Kimara White: October Library User of the Month

Kimara White,
Bachelor of Education student

“I have my grade 6 teacher to thank for my love of books. Until grade 6, reading was a chore that I avoided at all costs. Mrs. Rosell had a contest to see who could read the most books that year and I love a challenge! During class she would often read a book to us. I still remember ‘Jacob Tutu and the Hooded Fang’ and ‘Charlotte’s Web’ as two of my favorites.

As I listened and read I discovered that reading opened up a whole new world with each story. I won the contest that year by reading over 100 books and I still read daily. My love of learning has drawn me back to the college to fulfi ll my dream of being a teacher. My favorite spot in the library is the curriculum collection. It is full of amazing books, teaching tools, manipulatives, puppets and much more that can help anyone that works with children. I can usually be in found in the quiet study room in the library where I get most of my work done. Thank you so much for choosing me as the library user of the month! It is my favorite spot on campus. The library staff is amazing and always willing to help in any way.”
