New Fair Dealing Analysis Tool

MHC Library Services is pleased to announce a new online copyright tool.  By answering a few simple questions, this tool can visually illustrate whether or not your intended use of copyrighted material is likely to fall under Canadian Fair Dealing legislation.

The tool is accessible from the library's copyright guide or can be accessed directly by clicking here.

A pie chart illustrates the extent to which your intended use is likely to fall under Fair Dealing legislation.

This tool was designed to assist during the Fair Dealing Assessment process, but should not be interpreted as legal advice.

If you have any questions about copyright restrictions and/or Fair Dealing, please contact Chelsey Reid, Copyright Officer at Medicine Hat College:

Allen VandenBerg: September User of the Month

Allen VandenBerg
Vice-President, Student and College Services

I am very honoured to be recognized by the great people in the library.  It is truly a special place to be on campus and for me it is the main venue for my professional development.  I find it a wonderful haven both for its useful resources and as a place to contemplate how knowledge from those resources can be adapted to this already fine institution.  The library and its staff are part of what will ensure this college continues to grow and develop into an even finer post-secondary institution.  The library is a dynamic place that serves students directly and serves those who serve our students.  Thanks!
